Guernseys are medium sized dairy cows that can weigh between 550kg and 700kg. Their fawn and white coat help to tolerate and reduce heat stress, allowing them to adapt to various climates. They have a docile temperament, making Guernseys a pleasure to work with. Their milk is high in milk solids and beta-carotene, giving it its distinctive golden colour and leading to the nickname the Golden Guernsey.
The Guernsey breed was first established on the Island of Guernsey, which is part of the English Channel.
